The decree was signed this Tuesday (June 23rd) in Bras\u00edlia by Minister Andr\u00e9 de Paula.<\/p>\n<p>The initiative aims to strengthen productive, logistical, and commercial integration between Brazil and Bolivia, expanding the alternatives for transporting Brazilian agricultural production to ports on the Pacific Ocean. For Mato Grosso, the largest agricultural producer in the Central-West region and a state bordering Bolivia, the program represents an opportunity to reduce distances, lower logistical costs, and increase the competitiveness of its products in the international market, especially in Asia.<\/p>\n<p>The president of Famato, Vilmondes Tomain, participated in the event and highlighted that the new route fulfills a long-standing demand of the Mato Grosso production sector. \u201cThis was a moment that had been awaited for many years. Mato Grosso is far from markets, ports, and the main export outlets. Integration with Bolivia opens another export route through the west of the state and can boost not only this region, but the entire Mato Grosso agricultural economy,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n<p>The program envisions the consolidation of cross-border logistics corridors, with particular emphasis on the connection from western Mato Grosso. The expectation is that the new corridor will help reduce logistical bottlenecks, shorten distances, and increase the efficiency of production transportation.<\/p>\n<p>According to Vilmondes Tomain, the initiative also strengthens economic cooperation between Brazil and Bolivia. In addition to facilitating the flow of production, the integration could expand access to important agricultural inputs, such as fertilizers, and stimulate the development of new productive opportunities in the border region.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis integration is positive for both sides. Mato Grosso has technology, prepared producers, and great productive capacity. Bolivia also has a lot to offer, especially in inputs that are of interest to our sector. It is a relationship that can generate development, security, and opportunities for the entire region,\u201d emphasized the president of Famato.<\/p>\n<p>Vilmondes also highlighted that the State has already made progress in infrastructure projects to make the route viable, such as paving sections up to the border with Bolivia and coordinating efforts to consolidate the connection in Bolivian territory, especially towards San Ignacio.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe state has already begun working on this route, with construction up to the border with Bolivia, starting from Vila Bela. Now, the challenge is to also consolidate the stretch on the Bolivian side. This route can meet the demand of Mato Grosso, help in the flow of production and open new opportunities for both countries,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>The creation of the program was also defended as a measure capable of stimulating infrastructure investments, facilitating international trade, and promoting technical and health cooperation between countries. Among the planned areas are support for logistics, regulatory facilitation, trade promotion, and attracting investment.<\/p>\n<p>For Famato, opening new logistical alternatives is fundamental to ensuring greater efficiency for Mato Grosso&#039;s agribusiness. Currently, the distance to Brazilian ports represents one of the main challenges to the competitiveness of the state&#039;s production.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTalking about distance means talking about Mato Grosso. We are far from the supplies and also far from the ports to deliver our products. Therefore, each new logistical alternative represents a gain for the rural producer and for the development of the State,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>The program&#039;s implementation will be regulated by the Executive Secretariat of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply (MAPA), with the creation of a Management Committee.
