According to an analysis by Rabobank, raw sugar contracts in New York reached their highest level of the year, with October at 17.5 cents per pound on the 19th, while March and May 2027 exceeded 18 cents.\n<\/p>\n<div id=\"agk_14000_pos_3_sidebar_mobile\" style=\"text-align: center;\" class=\"mb-4\">\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"agk_14000_pos_4_conteudo_desktop\" style=\"text-align: center;\" class=\"d-none d-lg-block mb-md-4\">\n<\/div>\n<p>In dollar terms, the increase was around 20% above the average of the previous three months, and in reais, it reached 23%, favored by the devaluation of the Brazilian currency. In the Center-South region, the harvest experienced interruptions in milling due to the rains in May and June and a greater focus on ethanol production. Data from UNICA indicated a mix of 42.5% for sugar between April and June, while MAPA indicated 44% from April to July.<\/p>\n<p>By the end of July, regional production totaled 16.9 million tons of sugar, compared to 19.2 million in the same period of the previous harvest. Even with expected milling between 630 million and 645 million tons, the analysis indicates a drop in production in 2026\/27. To match the 40.4 million tons of 2025\/26, the sugar mix between August and the end of the harvest would have to reach 53%, considering milling of 640 million tons and sugarcane quality similar to the previous one.\n<\/p>\n<div id=\"agk_14000_pos_4_conteudo_mobile\" style=\"text-align: center;\" class=\"mb-4\">\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"agk_14000_pos_5_conteudo_desktop\" style=\"text-align: center;\" class=\"d-none d-lg-block mb-md-4\">\n<\/div>\n<p>In India, authorization to import 1 million tons of sugar and below-average monsoons reinforced concerns about the next harvest. The situation in Brazil and the Asian country stimulated the repositioning of funds and sustained the rise.
