For producers, the advice is to take advantage of current prices to sell portions of available corn without liquidating the entire position. For corn futures, the recommendation is to adopt tiered hedging, with 30% hedged on the B3 exchange, another 30% protected against a future price increase, and the remainder left open. In Chicago, the 540 to 550 cents per bushel range requires attention, while a drop below 500 cents would signal the need to accelerate hedging.<\/p>\n

Cooperatives should reduce inventory risk through gradual sales and progressive hedging. For grain traders, the recommendation is to avoid purchases based solely on expectations of further price increases and to evaluate the carrying margin, considering future prices, physical prices, freight, storage, financial costs, and hedging.\n<\/p>\n

In the animal feed industry, the recommended strategy is to expand short-term coverage, maintain intermediate protection for 60 days, and partial protection for 90 days, given the simultaneous rise in corn and soybean meal prices. Corn ethanol plants should hedge part of their future needs when industrial margins allow, monitoring corn, ethanol, DDG, oil, and profitability.<\/p>\n

In Brazil, the region between R$ 68 and R$ 68.50 per sack is considered a benchmark for maintaining the upward trend. The main guideline is to transform part of the current appreciation into protected margin, without completely abandoning participation in further increases.\n<\/p>\n
