At the same time, the intense cold and frosts recorded at the end of the period caused damage to some crops and require assessment by producers.

According to data released by Emater/RS-Ascar, the estimated area for the harvest is 896,401 hectares cultivated, with a projected productivity of 7,711 kg/ha and a production of approximately 6.91 million tons.

Producers have also made progress in crop management, applying herbicides and insecticides to control the leafhopper, whose incidence has increased in some regions.

In the Emater/RS-Ascar administrative region of Bagé, the estimated area planted with corn is 63,682 hectares. In Manoel Viana, planting is proceeding at an accelerated pace, in an attempt to compensate for the delay caused by the rainy period of the previous weeks.

According to data released by Emater/RS-Ascar, herbicide applications are underway, and some areas are showing a higher incidence of spittlebugs, requiring the use of insecticides. The insect can transmit stunting diseases and viruses from the time the plants emerge.

Producers are also assessing the impacts of the frosts. In general, the probability of damage is considered low, since the intensity of the event was limited in the municipalities where planting is more advanced.

Furthermore, the most advanced areas are still in the early stages of development. Even so, the sharp drop in temperatures may delay germination and emergence, as well as compromise the uniformity of the stand in the last areas sown.

In the Caxias do Sul region, the estimated cultivated area is 96,052 hectares. Producers have begun preparing the soil, including desiccation, for the start of sowing, scheduled for September.

According to data released by Emater/RS-Ascar, farmers are still waiting for temperatures to rise before starting planting. In the Erechim region, 44,915 hectares of corn are projected. Approximately 601 TP4T of the area has already been planted, mainly in areas near riverbanks.

However, high soil moisture delayed planting this cycle and continues to be one of the factors limiting the progress of operations.

In the Ijuí region, sowing resumed on September 4th, when soil moisture was adequate for the operation. Work continued until September 8th, when planting reached 88% of the projected area.

Crops sown between August 25th and 30th showed uniform emergence and rapid initial development. Areas planted in early August, however, received nitrogen topdressing.

According to data released by Emater/RS-Ascar, the frost recorded on September 7th caused burns on the leaves of cultivated plants in areas with lower elevations. The damage ranged from burns on the upper part of the leaves to plant death. Monitoring of the leafhopper also indicated a greater capture of insects in municipalities near Ibirubá.

In the Santa Maria region, planting has begun, with a projected area of 60,000 hectares. Conditions have allowed progress in soil preparation and crop establishment.

In the Santa Rosa region, planting reached 871 TP4T out of the planned 174,288 hectares. According to data released by Emater/RS-Ascar, weather and soil conditions favored the continuation of work, with mainly lower and wetter areas remaining. Crops in the early stages of development show a high population of leafhoppers, and producers are applying insecticides to control the pest.

The effects of the frosts recorded in the early morning of September 7th cannot yet be fully assessed. Plants with up to four leaves suffered damage, but most of the lesions are considered reversible. Despite this, plant development is expected to be significantly delayed.

The irregular rainfall at the beginning of the week also reduced soil moisture in some areas. As a result, producers began irrigating mainly crops in the germination and emergence stages, seeking to ensure a good plant stand.

In the Soledade region, planting has progressed to 35% of the total planned. High soil moisture continues to limit operations.

According to data released by Emater/RS-Ascar, the greatest progress is occurring in the Lower Vale do Rio Pardo region, where most municipalities are finalizing planting. The higher temperatures recorded in the last few days of the period have favored germination, emergence, and initial development of the already planted crops.

The scenario shows different paces of corn planting in Rio Grande do Sul. While some regions are progressing rapidly with sowing, others are still facing limitations caused by soil moisture or are waiting for more favorable thermal conditions. At the same time, monitoring the leafhopper and assessing the effects of frost remain among the main points of attention for producers during crop establishment.

THE Bela Cereais works with the best grains on the market and also keeps you up to date with the latest news and analyses on agribusiness.
Don't forget to follow our social networks.

Access News Source

[223
244,248,255,249,254,250,246,247,256,245,253,252,251
post-28176","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-milho","tag-agrolink","tag-agrotoxicos","tag-artigos-tecnicos","tag-classificados","tag-colunistas","tag-compra","tag-cotacoes","tag-defensivos","tag-eventos","tag-noticias","tag-precos-agricolas","tag-previsao-do-tempo","tag-venda
["GET
