According to Nivio Domingues, founder and director of Samba Export Brazil, the average annual value of exports from the sector rose from US$37.7 billion between 2003 and 2005 to US$166.6 billion between 2023 and 2025, according to data from the 2026 Map of Global Trade in Brazilian Agribusiness, prepared by RaboResearch Food &amp; Agribusiness, part of Rabobank.\n<\/p>\n<div id=\"agk_14000_pos_3_sidebar_mobile\" style=\"text-align: center;\" class=\"mb-4\">\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"agk_14000_pos_4_conteudo_desktop\" style=\"text-align: center;\" class=\"d-none d-lg-block mb-md-4\">\n<\/div>\n<p>Soybeans led this movement, followed by products such as sugar, beef, corn, coffee, cellulose, chicken, and cotton. Between 2023 and 2025, China accounted for 33% of the exported value, followed by other Asian countries with 17.4%, the European Union with 14%, the Middle East with 7.6%, Africa with 7%, the United States with 6.7%, and Mercosur with 3.1%.<\/p>\n<p>At the same time, Brazilian production remains heavily dependent on imported inputs. In 2024, approximately 91% of the demand for fertilizers was met by external purchases. In 2025, Russia and China accounted for 49% of the imported value of these products. In agricultural pesticides, China accounted for 43% of imports by value, followed by India, with 15%.\n<\/p>\n<div id=\"agk_14000_pos_4_conteudo_mobile\" style=\"text-align: center;\" class=\"mb-4\">\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"agk_14000_pos_5_conteudo_desktop\" style=\"text-align: center;\" class=\"d-none d-lg-block mb-md-4\">\n<\/div>\n<p>This scenario reveals a contrast between the export strength of agribusiness and the vulnerability of part of its production base. The assessment presented by Domingues points out that diversifying buyers reduces commercial risks, while expanding suppliers and national production of inputs can decrease strategic risks linked to production.
