According to data released by Emater\/RS-Ascar in the Conjunctural Report this Thursday (24), the first plantings are at the V8 stage and are receiving nitrogen fertilization.\n<\/p>\n<div id=\"agk_14000_pos_3_sidebar_mobile\" style=\"text-align: center;\" class=\"mb-4\">\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"agk_14000_pos_4_conteudo_desktop\" style=\"text-align: center;\" class=\"d-none d-lg-block mb-md-4\">\n<\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\">In the Emater\/RS-Ascar administrative region of Lajeado, in Cruzeiro do Sul, the crop is in its off-season for commercialization. The planted areas show initial vegetative development, while the first plantings have already reached the V8 stage.\n<\/p>\n<div id=\"agk_14000_pos_4_conteudo_mobile\" style=\"text-align: center;\" class=\"mb-4\">\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"agk_14000_pos_5_conteudo_desktop\" style=\"text-align: center;\" class=\"d-none d-lg-block mb-md-4\">\n<\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\">Planting was staggered to distribute production over time. The strategy aims to allow for weekly harvests starting in October and November.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\">To date, no diseases have been reported in the monitored green corn crops in the region. However, the presence of the corn leafhopper has been identified and requires monitoring and management.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\">According to data released by Emater\/RS-Ascar, farmers are using biological insecticides based on Beauveria bassiana and\/or Metarhizium anisopliae to control the pest.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\">The corn leafhopper, scientifically identified as Dalbulus maidis, is becoming a point of concern during crop development.
