Brazilian exports to Canada hit a historic record between January and September 2026. Sales totaled US$5.69 billion, a 12.11% increase compared to the same period in 2025, which, until then, already held the record. Imports of Canadian products also grew by 14.91%, a sign that bilateral trade between the countries remains strong. The data comes from Quick Trade Facts (QTF), a quarterly survey by the Brazil-Canada Chamber of Commerce (CCBC).\n<\/p>\n

The value of exports exceeds the previous record of US$5.08 billion from 2025 by US$$ 614 million, confirming an upward trend. This means that in two years, Brazilian sales to the Canadian market have grown by approximately 28%. The growth rate of imports is also noteworthy. Purchases more than doubled compared to January and September of last year, when the increase had already reached 7%.<\/p>\n

Trade between Brazil and Canada totaled US$8.41 billion in the first nine months of 2026, an increase of US$131 billion compared to the same period last year. Brazilian imports of Canadian products reached US$2.72 billion. As a result, Brazil maintained a positive trade balance of US$2.97 billion in bilateral trade.<\/p>\n

This latest CCBC study also points out that raw gold continued to be the main highlight of Brazilian sales to the Canadian market. Exports of gold bullion reached US$3.06 billion in the accumulated period up to September, a growth of 47% compared to 2025. The product accounted for 53.8% of all Brazilian exports to Canada, compared to 41.1% a year earlier, in an international scenario marked by economic and geopolitical uncertainties and the search for assets considered safe.\n<\/p>\n

\u201cThe performance of trade between Brazil and Canada highlights the relevance of the bilateral partnership in an uncertain international environment. While the demand for gold drives Brazilian exports, the expansion of purchases of fertilizers and other Canadian products demonstrates the complementarity between the two economies and the opportunities to deepen this relationship,\u201d says Hilton Nascimento, CEO of CCBC.<\/p>\n

Beef stands out in Brazilian exports.<\/p>\n

In addition to gold, growth in sales of beef, loading machines, and aviation kerosene contributed to the results of Brazilian exports. Boneless and frozen beef registered the most significant increase among the main products in the export portfolio, with an increase of 828% compared to the same period in 2025, reaching US$ 76.5 million. This data is even more relevant because Brazilian beef sales to China, a major buyer of the product, declined in 2026, and Canada was among the countries that significantly increased their purchases, which helped to partially offset the lower Chinese demand.<\/p>\n

This performance contrasts with the decline in products traditionally relevant in bilateral trade. Exports of calcined alumina fell by 28%, to US$858.8 million, while sales of cane sugar decreased by 25%, to US$251.5 million. Green coffee showed a drop of 20% and totaled US$172.8 million.\n<\/p>\n

The expansion of other items helped offset some of these declines. Sales of loader machines grew by 80%, to US$55.8 million, and sales of aviation kerosene advanced by 83%, reaching US$39.4 million. This result was also accompanied by an increase in exports of industrial equipment, such as turbojet parts and machining centers.<\/p>\n
