The first survey by the National Supply Company (Conab) for the cycle, released on October 15, projects 13.08 million hectares in the state, 0.6% more than last season, and a production of 50.9 million tons, 1.4% less. This represents approximately 737,000 tons less, the largest reduction among the states. Average productivity is expected to decrease by 2%, from 3,969 to 3,889 kilograms per hectare, equivalent to about 64.8 sacks.

The survey also indicates the producer's readiness for this harvest. In its analysis of soybeans in Mato Grosso, Conab notes that "a reduction in the technological package is likely due to the conditions for acquiring inputs and greater caution in investments." The bulletin also mentions the risks associated with El Niño, with high temperatures at the beginning of the cycle.

The Mato Grosso Institute of Agricultural Economics (Imea) is working with a more conservative scenario and projects a drop of 5.43% in productivity, to 62.44 sacks per hectare, with a production of 48.88 million tons. According to the institute's calculations, presented in September in partnership with Senar-MT, the total cost of farming increases by 16.69%, to R$ 8,171.41 per hectare, while the EBITDA, an indicator of operational results, decreases by 35.05%, to R$ 1,069.47 per hectare. Back in May, Imea already pointed to the rise in fertilizer prices, especially phosphate fertilizers, and diesel as factors putting pressure on margins, with expected adjustments to the technological package.

According to Douglas Vaz-Tostes, national technical manager at GIROAgro, the key issue this cycle is deciding where to adjust. “With tight margins, many producers will need to reduce investment. The point is where to cut. A cut made without criteria can cost more at harvest than was saved on the purchase of inputs,” he states.

According to him, the starting point is to know the crop and apply inputs precisely. “Soil analysis, for example, is an indispensable tool for the producer; with it, it's possible to understand the soil's reality, the nutrients that are limiting productivity, and where there are reserves that allow for adjusting the dosage. With this information, it's possible to reduce costs without depriving the plant of what it needs to develop,” he explains.
In addition to cost pressures, potential climate instabilities reinforce the need for more careful management. “In a scenario of tight margins and climate uncertainties, producers need to be even more strategic in their decisions. Knowing soil conditions, monitoring crop development, and directing investments towards what truly yields results are ways to preserve productivity, even in a more challenging environment,” adds Vaz-Tostes.

THE Bela Cereais works with the best grains on the market in the Central West Region and also keeps you up to date with the latest news and analyses on agribusiness.
Don't forget to follow our social networks.

Access News Source

[90
240,239,751
post-28844","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-centro-oeste","tag-agricultura","tag-agronegocio","tag-soja
["GET
