According to data analyzed by the Mato Grosso Institute of Agricultural Economics (Imea), the state&#039;s industries processed 10.42 million tons during this period, a volume 4.74% higher than that recorded in the first nine months of 2025.<\/p>\n<p>According to the institute, this is the best performance in the historical series and is related to the greater availability of soybeans in the last two harvests. Furthermore, record grain production and efficiency gains in industrial units, which are increasingly utilizing processing capacity, contributed to this growth.<\/p>\n<p>The outlook is also positive for the end of the year. Imea projects that crushing will reach 13.66 million tons in the current cycle, which should result in growth of 5% compared to last year. If the estimate is confirmed, the sector could set a new annual record.<\/p>\n<p>According to Laysa Avalos, coordinator of economic intelligence at Imea, the combination of raw material supply and better use of industrial infrastructure helps to expand processing.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe greater availability of soybeans allows industries to maintain high volumes of activity, while the more efficient use of installed capacity favors the advancement of processing. This scenario helps explain the record achieved in this accumulated period of 2026,\u201d he says.<\/p>\n<p>In September, even with the state having a recorded processing of 1.01 million tons, the data shows a reduction of 12,801 TP4T compared to August. This monthly result in crushing was influenced by the annual shutdowns for maintenance of industrial units, but even so, the one-off setback did not alter the positive performance of soybean crushing.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe increase in crushing demonstrates Mato Grosso&#039;s potential to transform part of its agricultural production into manufactured goods within its own territory. This process expands the possibilities for adding value to soybeans and contributes to strengthening the state&#039;s production chain,\u201d says the coordinator of economic intelligence at Imea.<\/p>\n<p>Laysa also points out that the activity benefits the state&#039;s economy, as it stimulates industry, services associated with processing and logistics, in addition to contributing to job and income generation.<\/p>\n<p>Soybean crushing is the process by which the beans are transformed into products such as soybean oil and meal.
