Low temperatures will persist this weekend in areas of the Center-South of the country, maintaining frost conditions in southern states, especially in the mountainous areas of the region. The meteorological phenomenon may also extend to the center-southwest of São Paulo and to areas of the south and southeast of Mato Grosso do Sul. There is still a chance of weaker and localized frost in cities in the Serra da Mantiqueira, both in Minas Gerais and in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo.

Frost is expected to persist in the South of the country until Sunday (June 1). Rural producers in the region should be alert to possible damage to crops. Frost has been occurring since yesterday (29), due to the incursion of an intense cold air mass over areas of the country.
As of 8 am today, the lowest temperatures in the South Region were recorded in the Rio Grande do Sul cities of Quaraí and Cambará do Sul, both with 0.9°C; São José dos Ausentes (RS) and Colombo (PR), with 1.1°C; Marechal Cândido Rondon (PR), with 2.1°C; Rio do Campo (SC), with 2.9°C; and Erechim and Vacaria, both with 3°C.
Over the weekend, there may also be heavy and isolated rain showers in part of the Northeast coast, especially on the coast of Bahia, in the extreme North of the country and between Espírito Santo and the east of Minas Gerais.
