On June 17, the Technical and Management Assistance (ATeG), promoted by the National Rural Training Service of Mato Grosso (Senar-MT), validated another request from the Rural Union of Nova Monte Verde for the formation of a new group of beef cattle farmers. Starting in August, 15 new producers will receive specialized assistance, with a focus on improving the management and productivity of the properties.
The ATeG supervisor at Senar-MT, Marcelo Nogueira, was in the city to formalize the new class and highlighted the institution’s commitment to responding to the growing demand from regional producers in the region. “The work developed in Nova Monte Verde is a reference in the state. The union’s work is crucial in mobilizing producers, and the result is visible: more productive properties, with efficient management and a focus on sustainable development. The validation of this new class reinforces our goal of bringing quality technical knowledge to the field,” said Marcelo.
During the meeting that confirmed the new group, the president of the Rural Union, Edivar Alves Teixeira, approved calling on producers from the region to participate in a new work front: fish farming. The proposal is to form a group of around 25 interested people who work or want to start raising fish.
“We are reaping the benefits of our partnership with Senar-MT. The results have been so positive that the producers themselves have contacted us to request new groups. Fish farming is an activity with great potential here in the region and we already have a list of specific groups. Together, we will continue to expand this project that is transforming the countryside,” said Edivar.
Currently, Nova Monte Verde has 90 properties served by ATeG: 30 in milk production, 30 in coffee production and now two groups of beef cattle farming, with 15 properties each. With the new beef group and the future front in fish farming, the forecast is that the municipality will reach 120 assisted properties by the end of 2025.
Senar-MT's ATeG is recognized for offering free technical assistance, with monthly visits to properties, specific guidance for each production reality and support in rural management. The initiative has been fundamental for sustainable development in the rural area of Mato Grosso, with real gains in income, productivity and quality of life for producers.
