The Brazilian government has concluded phytosanitary negotiations with Morocco, Iraq, Singapore, and Argentina, expanding access for Brazilian agribusiness products to markets in Africa, Asia, and South America.
In Morocco, Iraq, and Singapore, authorities have approved the export of Brazilian hay. An input for animal feed, the product is especially relevant in markets and livestock chains dependent on a regular supply of forage.
In 2024, Brazilian exports to these destinations totaled approximately US$3.8 billion, with Iraq standing out as the main buyer (US$1.78 billion).
Regarding Argentina, phytosanitary authorities approved the export of onion bulbs from Brazil. The country imported more than US$1.5 billion in Brazilian agricultural products, mainly cocoa and its products, coffee, and meat.
With these announcements, Brazilian agribusiness has reached 525 new market openings since the beginning of 2023. These results are the fruit of the joint work of the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE).
