Brazil has just gained more space in the international market with the conclusion of health agreements that authorize the shipment of live cattle for reproduction, bovine genetic material, such as semen and embryos, as well as fingerlings, fertilized eggs and day-old chicks to Burkina Faso.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAPA), these new market openings have the potential to strengthen Brazil's presence in African countries, a region the government views as strategic due to its rapid population growth and the need to modernize livestock production. For Burkina Faso, the measure means access to higher-value-added technologies and products capable of improving the genetic quality of livestock and expanding animal protein production.
With the announcement, Brazilian agribusiness has reached 434 market openings in 72 countries since the beginning of 2023, the result of negotiations conducted in partnership by Mapa and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE).
