The downward movement in corn prices was interrupted last week in some regions monitored by Cepea.
According to researchers at the Research Center, this scenario is linked to a decline among sellers. The second crop harvest has progressed in Brazil, but the pace of activity is still slower than last year and in previous harvests.
However, demanders are also moving away from spot purchases, aware of estimates indicating a record harvest in the country and weakened exports.
Cepea researchers indicate that these consumers have been using pre-negotiated lots. As a result, liquidity is low in the national spot market.
