The National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES) announced that the approval of resources for the 2024-2025 Harvest Plan reached R$15T 29.7 billion. This amount is directed to 125 thousand credit operations for cooperatives, rural producers and family farmers.
The information was released at the opening of Agrishow, in Ribeirão Preto, in the interior of São Paulo, last Monday (28). The fair is one of the main agribusiness technology events in Latin America and runs until Friday (2).

The public development bank is one of the sponsors of the fair, which is expected to receive 195 thousand visitors.
The Safra Plan's credit financing operations are carried out through accredited financial agents, meaning that borrowers do not need to sign the contract directly with BNDES. In this way, there is a decentralization of resources, reaching more than 90% of Brazilian municipalities.
Lower interest rates
The Safra Plan is one of the government's main initiatives for financing rural producers, with the provision of loans with lower interest rates than those charged by private banks.
BNDES president Aloizio Mercadante highlighted that the bank's support for the agricultural sector reached R$53.2 billion in two years, a record amount.
“We have promoted cutting-edge agribusiness, which respects environmental rules and invests in technological innovation,” said Mercadante.
The resources of the Safra Plan are for production, investment and marketing costs.
