Paraná had its largest grain harvest in history in 2024/25.

Paraná has just recorded the largest grain harvest in its history, with 46.8 million tons harvested in the 2024/25 cycle, with an estimated Gross Production Value (VBP) of around R$ 68 billion. The statement was made by technicians from the Department of Rural Economy (Deral), of the Secretariat of Agriculture and Supply (Seab), on Thursday (27), with the winter crop finishing harvesting now and consolidating this result. The data are in Subjective Crop Forecast (SCF).

Wheat had the largest planted area during the winter period – with 816,600 hectares, and 99% of the crop has already been harvested. “In addition to the good performance of wheat, oats deserve attention, with a harvest of 470,000 tons, the largest volume in the last ten years, which contributes to the historical record of the Paraná grain harvest,” explains Hugo Godinho, an agronomist at Deral.

The remaining grains – soybeans, beans, barley, and corn – contributed most to the record harvest, noting that Paraná's corn, individually, was the cereal that contributed most to this bumper crop, reaching a record 21 million tons. "The combination of more favorable weather, increased planted area, and good crop performance raised the state's productive potential," says Marcelo Garrido, head of Deral.
