With mills fully supplied, wheat grain sales remain limited, according to a Cepea survey. According to the Research Center, sellers are focused on crop development, fieldwork, and the start of the harvest in southern Brazil.
Those in immediate need end up giving in on the asking prices, while well-stocked mills offer even lower prices.
Furthermore, the proximity of the arrival of the largest volume of the 2025 harvest, the good productivity expectations, the exchange rate at lower levels and the ample global supply reinforce the pressure on domestic prices.
In August/25, the monthly average in Rio Grande do Sul was R$ 1,291.08/ton, a drop of 2% compared to July/25 and 12.2% compared to August/24, in real terms (deflation by IGP-DI).
In Paraná, the average was R$ 1,433.50/t, a decrease of 2.9% in the monthly comparison and 9.4% in the annual comparison. In São Paulo, the declines were 4.6% and 12.6%, respectively, with an average of R$ 1,431.12/t in August/25. In Santa Catarina, the average price was R$ 1,432.41/t, decreases of 0.6% and 7.6%, in the same order.
