Abiove maintains record projections for soybeans in 2025

The Brazilian Association of Vegetable Oil Industries (Abiove) released this week stable projections for the Soybean Complex in 2025 compared to the previous release. The data maintain the record outlook for the sector and were accompanied by positive results in the monthly performance.

In April, the processing volume reached 4.74 million tons, an increase of 1.3% compared to March and 9% compared to the same month in 2024, when adjusted by the sample percentage. In the year to date, processing reached 16.40 million tons, which represents an increase of 3.4% compared to the same period of the previous year.

Projections for the year remain high. Soybean production is expected to reach 169.7 million tons, while crushing remains projected at 57.5 million tons. Soybean meal and oil production are expected to reach 44.1 million tons and 11.4 million tons, respectively.

In the external scenario, the numbers remain positive. Brazil is expected to export 108.2 million tons of soybeans. Exports of soybean meal and soybean oil are expected to remain at 23.6 million tons and 1.4 million tons, respectively. Imports of soybean oil are estimated at 100 thousand tons, while soybean imports are expected to reach 500 thousand tons, as a way to complement the supply in the domestic market.
