Corn harvesting gains momentum in Mato Grosso and Goiás, reaching 38.91 TP4T in Brazil, according to Conab.

Harvesting activities for the second corn crop are progressing across Brazil. According to Conab's crop monitoring data, as of last Friday (10), 38.9% of the second crop areas had already been harvested.     

This index rose from 28.5% recorded until last week and is behind the 41.7% of the same period in 2025, and below the 46.7% average of the last five years. 

The states furthest ahead with the harvest are Mato Grosso (67.9%), Maranhão (63%), Tocantins (60%), Piauí (45%), Minas Gerais (13%), Goiás and Paraná (10%), São Paulo (7%) and Mato Grosso do Sul (4%). The remaining areas are divided between 9.4% still in grain filling and 51.7% already in maturation. 

Conab technicians highlight that the harvest is proceeding at an accelerated pace in Mato Grosso, with yields exceeding 12,000 kilograms per hectare (200 sc/ha) in some plots. In Paraná, however, the harvest remains delayed due to staggered planting and high grain moisture content. 

In Mato Grosso do Sul and São Paulo, the high moisture content of the grains is also limiting the progress of the harvest, while in Goiás the crop cycle has been shortened due to a lack of rainfall, especially in the south of the state.
