The Brazilian government has concluded negotiations with Ethiopia that will allow the export of various animal protein products.
The new markets cover beef, pork and poultry and their respective meat products and offal; pet food; dairy products; wild-caught and farmed fish; animal feed products of non-animal origin; palatability enhancers (additives that improve the aroma, flavor, texture and attractiveness of animal feed); fingerlings; fertile eggs; live cattle for slaughter, fattening and breeding; semen and embryos of goats and sheep; and day-old chicks.
The opening expands the presence of Brazilian agribusiness in a strategic market in the Horn of Africa and strengthens agricultural relations with Ethiopia, where an agricultural attaché office was established in 2025.
With this result, Brazilian agribusiness has reached 574 market openings since the beginning of 2023.
This progress is the result of coordinated action by the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE).
