Chicken exports reach highest volume in history in the first four months of the year.

Brazilian chicken meat exports hit a record in the first four months of 2026, reaching the highest volume in the historical series of the Secretariat of Foreign Trade (Secex), which began in 1997. Between January and April, Brazil shipped 1.94 million tons of the protein, surpassing the previous record of 1.93 million tons, registered in the last four months of 2025.

Performance was also boosted by April's results. In that month, shipments totaled 486,500 tons, the highest volume ever exported for April since the beginning of the historical series. This result represents growth of 2.21 TP4T compared to the same period last year, despite a decrease of 3.51 TP4T compared to March.

In the domestic market, chicken meat prices remained supported throughout the last week, according to an analysis by CepeaThe combination of strong demand and more controlled supply in some regions kept prices high.

Loss of momentum in parts of the market. This expectation is linked to a reduction in the population's purchasing power at the end of the month, a period traditionally marked by a slowdown in consumption.

Nevertheless, some market participants see room for further upward price adjustments, especially in regions where protein availability remains more limited relative to demand.
