Brazilian egg exports declined in July, interrupting the upward trend observed throughout the first six months of the year.
According to data from Secex, compiled and analyzed by Cepea, Brazil shipped 5,260 tons of eggs in nature and processed in July, a volume 20% lower than that of June, but a significant 305% higher than that of July/24.
Researchers explain that the monthly drop is due to a 31% reduction in the amount shipped to the United States. They emphasize, however, that even with the drop, the country remains the main destination for Brazilian protein.
In the domestic market, egg prices began August on the rise in most regions monitored by Cepea. This movement was driven by the end of school holidays, which favored the recovery in demand, and by the beginning of the month, when the population is typically more capitalized and protein consumption tends to increase.
