Brazilian chicken meat exports totaled 482,300 tonnes in September, a decrease of 0.6% compared to the same period in 2024, according to data from the Brazilian Animal Protein Association (ABPA). In value terms, shipments totaled US$$ 857.9 million, a decrease of 10.1%.
Among the main markets, Iraq stood out for the second consecutive month, with 13,500 tons exported, an increase of 7.91 T4T over September last year. Other sales increased to South Africa, Mexico, and Saudi Arabia, while Japan and the United Arab Emirates saw declines.

From January to September, Brazil exported 3.876 million tons, a decrease of 1% year-over-year, totaling US$$ in revenue. This performance was impacted by a case of avian flu in May, which led to the temporary suspension of shipments. Most of the embargoes have now been lifted.
ABPA President Ricardo Santin highlighted positive expectations for October, driven by the resumption of sales to the European Union. The leading states in exports continue to be Paraná, Santa Catarina, Rio Grande do Sul, São Paulo, and Goiás.
