Water shortages and price disputes are stalling the soybean market.

A survey by Cepea shows that negotiations involving soybeans and soybean derivatives are slow at the beginning of December, limited by the disparity between the prices offered by buyers and the prices requested by sellers.

According to the Research Center, while a large portion of consumers are well-stocked and waiting for prices to fall, many producers appear well-capitalized and unwilling to offer new lots on the spot market.

These soybean farmers are focused on field activities and concerned about potential productivity losses, especially in regions facing water shortages.

Furthermore, collaborators consulted by Cepea believe it is unlikely that the 2025/26 harvest will reach the 177 million tons projected by Conab.
