Goiás ends 2025 with a trade surplus of over US$8 billion.

The State of Goiás closed the year 2025 with a highly positive result in its trade balance, achieving a surplus of over US$8 billion. Goiás' exports totaled US$13.4 billion, while imports totaled US$5.3 billion, demonstrating the strength of the state's productive sector and the competitiveness of Goiás products in the international market.

In December alone, the trade balance was US$613 million, resulting from exports reaching US$999 million and imports of US$386 million. The data comes from the Superintendency of Foreign Trade and Attraction of International Investments, released by the State Secretariat of Industry, Commerce and Services (SIC). “The closing of the 2025 trade balance demonstrates the results of public policies aimed at attracting investments, modernizing industry, and supporting the productive sector. Goiás stood out in several segments throughout the year, and the strong insertion of Goiás products in foreign trade reinforces the state's position as one of the main drivers of Brazilian foreign trade, in addition to indicating favorable prospects for 2026,” highlighted the head of the SIC, Joel de Sant'Anna Braga Filho.

In the period from January to December 2025, the main products exported by the state were from the soybean complex, responsible for 46.55% of the total exported, followed by meats (18.07%), corn complex (7.48%), ferroalloys (6.24%), sugar (4.84%) and copper ores (3.76%).

In the ranking of exporting municipalities, in December, Rio Verde led with 25.40% of the total state exports, followed by Jataí (8.42%), Mozarlândia (5.08%), Palmeiras de Goiás (4.64%) and Alto Horizonte (3.76%).

In the period from January to December 2025, China remained the main destination for exports from Goiás, accounting for 43,361 TP4T of the total. Following China were the United States (4,781 TP4T), Iran (2,921 TP4T), Vietnam (2,441 TP4T), and the Netherlands (Holland), with 2,391 TP4T. In terms of imports, the municipality of Anápolis stood out, responsible for 40,271 TP4T of the state total, reflecting the strength of its industrial hub, especially in the pharmaceutical sector.
