The Gênesis Genetic Nucleus, belonging to Agroceres PIC in Paraná, has been authorized by the Servicio Agrícola y Ganadero (SAG) of Chile to export breeding pigs. This authorization is the result of an on-site technical mission conducted by Chilean auditors between November and December 2025.
During the audit, both the official Brazilian animal health defense system and the specific conditions of the production unit were evaluated. The itinerary included meetings with federal and state authorities and detailed inspections of Gênesis' facilities and structure.
“The endorsement from Chile carries significant weight because it recognizes the team's work and validates the sanitary and genetic quality of our animals,” says Leone de Brito Silva, Production and Export Coordinator at Agroceres PIC.
According to Leone, Chile has one of the most rigorous sanitary systems in Latin America, is highly selective in the importation of genetic material, and acts as a technical reference for other markets.
Health as a strategic asset
For Nevton Hector Brun, Production Manager at Agroceres PIC, the opening of the Chilean market is a direct result of the strengthening of the Brazilian sanitary system. According to him, the recognition of Brazil as a foot-and-mouth disease-free zone without vaccination was decisive for the authorization. "This is a strategic achievement, reflecting the serious and consistent work of the official sanitary service," he states.
According to Brun, the authorization granted by Chile represents another step in consolidating Brazil as an exporter of swine genetic material. "This authorization reinforces the country's position as a supplier of genetics and expands our possibilities for operating in the international market," he adds.
With this authorization, Agroceres PIC becomes the first Brazilian swine genetics company authorized to export live breeding stock to Chile. Although Brazil has not yet exported to this market, the certification paves the way for future operations, contingent on demand and commercial negotiations.
Today, Agroceres PIC already exports swine genetics to countries such as Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay, Colombia, and Bolivia.
