Rains support crops in February in the North-Central region and Minas Gerais.

The moisture corridor in the North-Central region of the country should keep the soil well-supplied in February, supporting crop growth. However, harvests and plantings remain dependent on brief periods of dry weather due to frequent rain showers, according to data from Itaú BBA Agro Consulting.

In the South, irregular rainfall continues. In Rio Grande do Sul, the west is registering lower volumes, while the east is experiencing higher accumulations, providing some support to crops, although without full regularity. Climate models indicate that more regular rainfall should return from February 15th onwards, which may alleviate water stress in the most affected areas and help stabilize crop development during sensitive phases. This increase in humidity tends to reduce potential losses in some regions.

In Argentina, after days of drier weather, the beginning of February brings expectations of moisture recovery. Recent rainfall is helping to maintain the positive progress of the harvest, especially in the Buenos Aires region, which is already showing signs of improvement compared to the critical period in January.

In the coffee-growing belt of Minas Gerais, the month begins with well-supplied soil and favorable conditions for grain filling. The good vegetative state observed so far reflects the significant volume of rainfall accumulated since January, ensuring good water availability and favoring plant development, according to data from Itaú BBA Agro Consulting.
