Aprosoja/MS has revised upwards its productivity estimate for the 2025/2026 soybean crop in Mato Grosso do Sul. According to information from the SIGA-MS Project, the state average increased from 52.82 to 61.73 sacks per hectare, representing an increase of 19.21 TP4T compared to the previous cycle.
With the new estimate, soybean production in the state could reach 17.7 million tons, an increase of 26.31 TP4T compared to the 2024/2025 harvest. The cultivated area remains estimated at 4.7 million hectares, representing an expansion of 5.91 TP4T compared to the previous cycle.
“The revision was made after sampling productivity in 19.5% of the cultivated area. Despite this, the numbers may still undergo adjustments. This is because the final data depend on the completion of the Land Use and Occupation study and the progress of the productivity survey on rural properties,” points out the technical advisor of Aprosoja/MS, Flavio Aguena.
Harvest progress
According to data from the SIGA-MS Project, executed by Aprosoja/MS, as of April 3rd, 74.1% of the soybean area had already been harvested in the North region, 85.5% in the Central region, and 98.4% in the South region of the State.
In total, approximately 4.3 million hectares of soybeans have already been harvested in Mato Grosso do Sul.
Corn Planting
While the soybean harvest progresses, producers are also continuing with the planting of the second corn crop. To date, 2.1 million hectares have been sown, with progress of 95.31 TP4T in the North region, 93.11 TP4T in the Central region, and 99.61 TP4T in the South region.
The estimate for the 2025/2026 second corn crop indicates an area of 2.2 million hectares, an increase of approximately 31 TP4T compared to the previous cycle. The expected average productivity is 84.2 sacks per hectare, which represents a reduction of 22.41 TP4T compared to the last harvest.
Production is estimated at 11.1 million tons, a volume 20.1% lower than that recorded in the 2024/2025 harvest.
