The weather forecast for the coming days in the Central-West region is noteworthy for the arrival of heavy and persistent rain, an unusual scenario for June. The instability is beginning to gain strength in Mato Grosso do Sul and is gradually advancing towards Mato Grosso and Goiás, bringing significant accumulations and the possibility of isolated storms.
According to meteorologist Estael Sias, Friday is expected to see the highest rainfall totals of the week. In Goiás, cities such as Mineiros, Rio Verde, Jataí, and Santa Helena de Goiás could register between 50 and 70 millimeters in just one day. In Mato Grosso do Sul and southern Mato Grosso, municipalities such as Pedro Gomes, Alcinópolis, Buriti, Alto Taquari, and Ouro Branco do Sul are also in the path of the highest accumulations.
Over the next five days, some areas could exceed 100 millimeters of rainfall, volumes considered well above average for this time of year. This condition reinforces the warning for rural producers, as the sequence of rainy days could hinder field operations.
In addition to rain, there is a risk of localized storms, accompanied by gusts of wind and even hail in isolated areas, especially where warm air interacts with the instability.
Temperatures are also expected to change. The prevailing heat in Mato Grosso and Goiás this Wednesday, with highs between 30°C and 34°C, will weaken starting Thursday. On Friday, cloud cover and rain will reduce temperatures across much of the region. In Campo Grande (MS), for example, highs are expected to remain between 21°C and 23°C for several consecutive days.
In Dourados (MS), the forecast indicates frequent rain until the beginning of next week, with the most intense volumes concentrated between Thursday and Saturday. The trend is for improvement only from Tuesday onwards, when the weather becomes more stable again.
