Cottonseed Meal: Protein and Energy for Animals
Cottonseed meal is a byproduct of cottonseed oil extraction, widely used in animal feed due to its high protein and fiber content.
Cottonseed meal is a food rich in proteins and energy, and is widely used in feeding ruminants, such as beef cattle, pigs and goats, presenting a high crude protein content, with a value between 24.9 and 44.3% and metabolizable energy content corresponding to approximately 60 to 70% of the energy value of soybean meal.
Bela Cereais offers high quality cottonseed meal from the best producing regions.

Cottonseed meal
Cottonseed meal is a byproduct of extracting oil from cottonseeds. It is obtained through a process that involves removing the lint, opening the seed, extracting the oil and grinding the resulting cake.
There are different types of bran available on the market. The most commonly recommended bran for cattle consumption is rich in hulls, containing 25 to 36% of CP. Cottonseed meal is also a great alternative, but it is always interesting to compare the price of protein with other inputs that have a higher protein content in their composition, for example, soybean meal.
