Aprosoja MT holds a meeting with journalists in Brasília to expand dialogue between the countryside and the city

The Mato Grosso Soybean and Corn Producers Association (Aprosoja MT) held a breakfast meeting with journalists from the federal capital this Tuesday (September 24) in Brasília. The meeting aimed to further connect the productive sector and the national press, reinforcing the importance of direct dialogue about the challenges and achievements of Mato Grosso's rural producers.

Lucas Costa Beber, president of Aprosoja MT, noted that the press plays a fundamental role in connecting the sector with society and giving visibility to the work carried out in the field. "I always say that journalism has the power to influence and bring people closer, demystify, and showcase the positive work the sector does. Furthermore, it helps guide and inform the National Congress and the Judiciary, precisely because it understands, primarily through data, facts, and figures, the reality of our sector," said Costa Beber.

In the opinion of the entity's president, the presence of the media at the meeting reinforced the importance of this dialogue.

"The meeting was certainly very positive. We were honored by journalists from renowned media outlets, and this also brings our organization and our sector closer to society, showcasing all the positive factors and work we carry out and provide to both society and the sector itself," he added.

The program included the participation of journalists who were present and positively evaluated the opening of this space for interaction. Davi Vittorazzi of CNN Brasil emphasized that initiatives like this contribute to society's understanding of soybean and corn production and recognizes the role of the press in this process.

"I think it's crucial, especially for society, to learn more about the work Aprosoja MT does, specifically here in Brasília, the center of power, where many political and commercial relationships exist. For us, who follow the coverage, this meeting was another moment of enlightenment, because we often don't know what's happening on the ground. During this coffee, we were able to learn firsthand about the work being done. This broadens our perspective, brings recognition, and demonstrates the importance of the press as a bridge between information and the public. For us, it's essential to understand everything you're doing," said the CNN journalist.

Ederson Granetto, editor-in-chief of Canal Agro+, also emphasized the importance of connecting the production sector with the national press. "It's important for Aprosoja MT to communicate not only with journalists in Mato Grosso, but also with the press nationwide. Brasília is an example of this; it's home to the professionals who cover agribusiness, and at the same time, it's home to the Ministry and Congress. Today, we have over 300 members of parliament representing the agricultural sector, making the federal capital a strategic hub for communicating agricultural issues, bringing the sector closer to specialized journalists, like us at Canal Agro Mais," he noted.

Representing Aprosoja Brasil, Communications Manager Vinícius Tavares highlighted that initiatives like this, in addition to expanding relationships with journalists, also directly reach society.

"This meeting is essential because we're not just talking to journalists, but to society as a whole. Journalists are the ones who connect rural producers, the reality of the countryside, with consumers. Consumers often don't know the journey food takes to get to the table, the challenges they face. In the case of soy, at Aprosoja Brasil, we talk about food, soybeans, and corn, which are found in milk, eggs, dairy products, meat, and even biodiesel, which feeds and transports people. And from this conversation, various topics can emerge. We have many opportunities to go beyond the daily grind of bad news, but also to propose good stories and perspectives to journalists, bringing the truth about agriculture to society," he stated.

With this latest edition of coffee with journalists, Aprosoja MT seeks to strengthen connections and expand dialogue with society through the press, demonstrating the relevance and sustainability of soybean and corn production for Brazil.
