Famato strengthens dialogue with the Government of Mato Grosso in defense of producers and the productive sector

The Mato Grosso Agriculture and Livestock Federation (Famato) met with Governor Mauro Mendes this Tuesday (September 16th) to discuss an issue that directly concerns rural producers and impacts the state's development: the processes related to the issuance of certificates of regularity for Permanent Preservation Areas (APPs) on federal rivers. The meeting also included representatives from the Secretariat of Federal Heritage (SPU), the State Secretariat for the Environment (Sema), the General Inspectorate of Justice, the OAB-MT (Brazilian Bar Association of Mato Grosso), and the 1st Office of the Notary of Barra do Garças.

Represented by legal consultant Rodrigo Bressane and land affairs analyst Dione Castro, Famato conveyed to the governor the production sector's concern about the need for legal certainty in these processes, which are crucial for property transfers and the progress of rural activities. The organization argues that any procedure must be conducted with balance, respecting environmental requirements while also ensuring the working conditions and permanence of producers in the field.

By participating in this initiative, Famato reaffirms its role as the legitimate representative of rural families, seeking joint solutions that strengthen trust between public and private institutions. Ongoing dialogue with the state government and other agencies is part of the Federation's ongoing work to ensure that Mato Grosso producers have legal stability, recognition of their economic role, and investment security.

"Famato has been working hard to ensure legal certainty for rural producers. The issue of issuing APP certificates on federal rivers requires balance and joint solutions, and this meeting with Governor Mauro Mendes demonstrates the importance of joint efforts between institutions. Our goal is to ensure that producers have legal support and confidence to invest, preserving the environment and strengthening the production sector," said Rodrigo Bressane.

For the organization, meetings like this are opportunities to align efforts toward environmental preservation, land regularization, and production sustainability. Famato has worked tirelessly to ensure Mato Grosso continues to advance, always balancing environmental responsibility with the strength of agribusiness, which is the foundation of the state's economy and development.

"This meeting represents an important step in the dialogue with the Executive Branch. Our mission is to bring the reality of rural producers into the technical and institutional discussions. We are working to ensure that the regularization processes advance safely, clearly, and in compliance with the law, but also with attention to the families who make their living from the countryside and need stability to continue producing and contributing to Mato Grosso," Dione noted.
