The good performance of Brazilian chicken meat exports has been sustaining protein prices in the South region, Brazil's export hub.
According to data from Secex analyzed by Cepea, in the first 13 working days of March, the daily average of shipments of fresh chicken meat was 24.9 thousand tons, 14.1% above that recorded in the previous month and a significant 27% higher than in March 2024.
This is also a record daily average, considering the entire historical series of Secex, which began in 1997.
The Research Center also highlights that, in general, intense exports prevent meat prices in Greater São Paulo from falling sharply – especially during this period of the month marked by lower purchasing power – as they reduce domestic availability.
