According to data from Itaú BBA Agro, Brazilian chicken meat exports registered a strong recovery in October, while the domestic market showed price stability and increased profitability. This performance was driven by the resumption of sales to China and the diversification of export destinations.
China recently announced the lifting of the embargo imposed since May, reopening a strategic market for chicken feet and paws, low value-added cuts but fundamental to the income of the industries. The measure reinforces the role of the Asian country as an essential partner for the segment.
In the international market, October consolidated the best result of the year: Brazil shipped 501,000 tons of chicken meat, a volume 8.2% higher than that recorded in the same month of 2024. There was also a resumption of exports to the European Union, which returned after almost four months of suspension, expanding the diversification of markets served.

In the domestic market, prices for whole frozen chicken, which had risen in October, have stabilized near R$ 8/kg, in line with prices seen a year ago.
On the supply side, slaughtering increased in September and October after a more subdued pace in August. Even with increased exports helping to offset some of the production, domestic availability remains higher than in 2024, supporting price equilibrium.
Profitability also improved. The spread for slaughtered chicken rose from 38% in September to 42% in October, driven by a 6.2% increase in the price of poultry and stable production costs. A year ago, the indicator was at 37%; in May, before the impacts of avian flu, it had reached 44%.
