The month of September was particularly positive for animal protein chains in Paraná, with notable performance in pork exports and an increase in egg production. This data is included in the economic bulletin from the Department of Rural Economy (Deral) of the Paraná State Secretariat of Agriculture and Supply (Seab).

According to information from the Comex Stat/MDIC platform, analyzed by Deral, the state shipped 25,200 tons of pork in the month, a volume 35.5% higher than that recorded in September 2024. The Philippines led the purchases, with 5,700 tons.
"The country remains the main destination for the fifth consecutive month, highlighting the consolidation of this new market, to which Paraná has been sending significant volumes for just over a year," emphasized the veterinarian from Deral, Priscila Marcenovicz.
Subsequently, Vietnam came in second among the main buyers, with 5,200 tons, followed by Hong Kong, which acquired 3,200 tons in the month — although it remains the main destination in the accumulated total for the year. Other prominent markets were Uruguay (2,500 tons) and Argentina (2,400 tons), in addition to smaller shipments to the United Arab Emirates, Georgia, Ivory Coast, and Cuba.
For Priscila, the performance reflects international confidence in the quality of Paraná's production and the positive effects of opening new markets. "This movement shows the sector's ability to diversify and expand commercial partnerships, strengthening the presence of Paraná's pork on the global stage," she stated.
Beef exports also hit a record high.
The Deral bulletin also points out that Brazilian beef exports also hit a record in September, with 347,000 tons shipped and revenue of US$1.9 billion.
According to veterinarian Thiago de Marchi da Silva, from Deral, even with the reduction in exports to the United States due to new tariffs, Brazil managed to redirect the product to other destinations. "China increased its purchases by almost 40% compared to the same month in 2024, absorbing a good portion of that volume," he noted.
He adds that countries like Paraguay have been buying Brazilian meat to supply their own domestic market, while exporting their production to the US. "Paraguayan imports of Brazilian meat increased by 90% between January and September, compared to the same period of the previous year," he explained.

The bulletin also highlights data from the Municipal Livestock Survey (PPM) by IBGE, which indicates an 8.6% growth in national egg production in 2024, totaling 5.4 billion dozen — a new historical record since the beginning of the series in 1999.
The Gross Value of Production (VBP) generated by the activity exceeded R$ 31.8 billion, with São Paulo leading national production (26%), followed by Paraná (9.6%), Minas Gerais (9.5%), Rio Grande do Sul (7.6%) and Espírito Santo (7%).
In Paraná, production reached 517.3 million dozen in 2024, an increase of 4.91% compared to the previous year. This volume includes both eggs destined for consumption and for incubation, reinforcing the state's importance in the national poultry industry.
