Brazilian egg production is expected to close 2025 with one of the biggest advances in the sector's history, according to projections presented this Wednesday (03) by the Brazilian Association of Animal Protein (ABPA). In addition to the significant increase in production, the country should register an unprecedented leap in exports and consistent growth in domestic consumption, a movement that also extends to 2026.
According to ABPA, national production, which reached 57.683 billion units in 2024, could reach 62.25 billion in 2025, an increase of up to 7.91 TBP. This growth is considered significant for a segment that is already consolidated and distributed throughout all regions of the country.
For 2026, the projection points to further expansion, with production potentially reaching 66.5 billion units, an additional increase of 6.81 TPP4 over the forecast for 2025.
According to the president of ABPA, Ricardo Santin, this movement reflects the evolution of the production chain. “We are seeing a sector that is growing on solid foundations. The modernization of farms, technological advancements, and the professionalization of management are driving sustainable expansion,” he stated.

Exports grow by more than 100%
The most significant highlight of the projections is in foreign trade. Brazil, which shipped 18,469 tons in 2024, could export up to 40,000 tons in 2025, a growth of 116.6% in just one year.
For 2026, the sector forecasts a further increase, reaching 45,000 tons, a rise of 12.5% over the volume projected for 2025.
Santin points out that the sector is experiencing a turning point in the global market. “The world is discovering Brazilian eggs. We have scale, sanitary quality, and competitiveness. It's a market that tends to grow, and in which Brazil has an advantage,” he emphasized.
Domestic consumption should reach 287 units.
In the domestic market, per capita consumption continues its upward trajectory. The average of 269 units per inhabitant in 2024 is expected to rise to 287 units in 2025, an increase of 6.71% of the total cost per quarter. By 2026, the indicator could reach 307 units, a growth of 71% of the total cost per quarter compared to the previous year.
In addition to the increased domestic supply, ABPA highlights that eggs are becoming increasingly valued by consumers. "The egg has become consolidated."

"It is recognized as a nutritious, affordable protein that is a staple in the diets of Brazilian families. This recognition is reflected in the year-on-year increase in consumption," Santin emphasized.
Projections solidify 2025 as a key year.
With expanded production, more than doubled exports, and strong growth in domestic consumption, 2025 is shaping up to be a key year for the consolidation of the sector in Brazil. And, unlike other supply chains that face cyclical fluctuations, the egg segment should maintain this pace in 2026 as well. “The sector is prepared for a prolonged cycle of expansion. We are delivering more, exporting more, and supplying the country better. The trend is that 2026 will reaffirm this growth curve,” assessed Santin.
