High supply and weak demand put pressure on corn prices

Pressured by weakened demand and increased supply, corn prices continued to fall last week, according to surveys by Cepea.

According to the Research Center, consumers stay away from the national spot, waiting for better opportunities to acquire new lots.

Sellers, in turn, are showing themselves to be more flexible in negotiations, especially given the good expectations for the second harvest – most crops are developing well, helped by the return of sufficient rainfall to maintain soil moisture.

Cepea researchers emphasize that the pace of business is slow even though the price of corn is more attractive than that of soybeans.
