In the first two weeks of April, Brazil registered exports of 351,072.2 tons of unmilled corn (except sweet corn), according to data released by the Foreign Trade Secretariat (Secex).
Therefore, the accumulated volume in these first 9 working days of the month represents 50.8% of the total of 690,295.8 tons that were exported throughout the month of April 2022.
As a result, the daily average of shipments was 39,008 tons, which, compared to the same period last year, represents an increase of 7.4% compared to the 36,331.4 in the fourth month of 2022.
In the view of Roberto Carlos Rafael from Germinar Corretora, the expectation for this cycle is to export 50 million tons, depending on the size of the production harvested in this second Brazilian harvest.
In financial terms, Brazil collected a total of US$105.792 million in the period, compared to US$231.815 million in the whole of April last year. Which, on a daily average, leaves the current month with a decrease of 3.7%, leaving US$11.754 million per business day compared to US$12.200 million in the last month of April.
The price per ton obtained also fell by 10.3% in the period, going from US$ 335.80 last year to US$ 301.30 in the month.
