Reluctance of sellers keeps corn liquidity low.

Liquidity in the Brazilian corn market is low, mainly because a large portion of sellers are staying away from the spot market, according to researchers at Cepea.

On the demand side, many consumers are interested in new purchases, but sales involve only small volumes.

According to researchers at Cepea, on the one hand, the recovery in external value last week and the intensification of Brazilian exports are factors supporting domestic prices.

On the other hand, the recent devaluation of the dollar, the good development of the first corn crop, and the large domestic surplus could result in declines. This context highlights that the market should still seek adjustments in the coming months.

In the countryside, the weather continues to favor the sowing and development of summer crops. However, in some regions of the country, such as Paraná and Rio Grande do Sul, rainfall volumes, wind intensity, and hail reports are putting producers on alert.

According to Conab, as of November 8, 47.7% of the summer crop area had been sown in Brazil, a weekly increase of 4.9 percentage points and 2.2 percentage points above the average of the last five years.
