The Gross Value of Agricultural Production (VBP) in Roraima reached R$ 2.84 billion in 2025, according to data from the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa), released on November 21. In 2024, the state's VBP totaled R$ 2.46 billion.
The positive variation between the two years was approximately +15.6%, indicating a relevant nominal expansion during the period. In absolute terms, the increase was around R$ 385 million in the value generated by Roraima's agricultural sector.
Despite the growth, Roraima maintained a limited share in the national scenario, accounting for only 0.19% of Brazil's agricultural VBP.
VBP of Brazil
Nationally, Brazil's VBP (Value of Agricultural Production) reached R$ (Reference Value per Unit of Production) of 1.267 trillion in 2025. The state ranking and the widespread expansion observed in the main producing states indicate a more robust and structural national growth, driven by consolidated chains such as soybeans, cattle, corn, and sugarcane.
This movement widens the gap between the national dynamics and the reality of Roraima. While states like Mato Grosso, São Paulo, Minas Gerais, and Paraná operate at levels above R$ 140 billion, Roraima remains below R$ 3 billion, with a narrow productive base and high concentration in a few activities.
With 0.19% of the Brazilian VBP (Value of Agricultural Production), Roraima occupies a marginal position in national agriculture. Even with high percentage growth, the state's absolute impact on the national VBP remains statistically limited.
Production structure
The ranking of products from Roraima in 2025 reveals a strong concentration:
Soybeans: R$ 843.6 million
Cattle: R$ 422.5 million
Cassava: R$ 364.2 million
Banana: R$ 251.1 million
Rice: R$ 207.5 million
These five activities account for the largest share of the state's VBP (Value of Agricultural Production), with soybeans standing out, representing approximately 34% of the total value.
Among the branches traditionally accompanied by this:
Cattle farming appears as the main livestock activity in the state, sustaining over R$ 420 million in VBP (Value of Agricultural Production). Soybeans and corn form the central axis of commercial agricultural production. Eggs register R$ 66.4 million, with a modest share.
The absence of abrupt variations suggests that the growth of the state's VBP (Value of Agricultural Production) is more associated with the expansion of prices and area in existing crops than with the incorporation of new production chains.
The numbers show that Roraima is growing, but growing from a narrow base. The increase in Gross Production Value (GPV) is real, but sustained by few activities and without significant changes in the productive composition. The low participation in the national GPV, coupled with the absence of relevant animal protein chains and strategic grains such as wheat, limits the gain in scale and the integration of the state into the dynamics of Brazilian agriculture.
The data indicate predominantly nominal growth, with structural challenges linked to productive diversification, consolidation of supply chains, and expansion of added value in the field—factors that remain evident obstacles in light of official statistics.
