Stable weather improves wheat prospects in the South.

After rains hit wheat-producing regions in the South of the country and worried farmers, the more stable weather at the end of October has left agents more optimistic, according to researchers at Cepea.

According to the Research Center, recent weather conditions have favored the development of wheat crops, which are already moving towards the maturation phase.

Regarding prices, a survey by Cepea shows that values continue to fall, pressured by the progress of the harvest, good productivity prospects in Brazil, as well as the large harvest in Argentina and lower international prices and dollar exchange rates.

In October 2025, the average price of wheat traded in Rio Grande do Sul was R$ 1,138.41/t, a decrease of 9.6% compared to September 2025 and 11.7% compared to October 2024, in real terms (deflated by the IGP-DI); in Paraná, it was R$ 1,216.53/t, decreases of 9.7% and 15.6% in the monthly and annual comparisons, respectively – the lowest value since October 2023.

In São Paulo, the variations were negative by 7.5% and 24.9% respectively, with the average falling to R$ 1,161.58/t, the lowest real level since November 2016. In Santa Catarina, the average of R$ 1,263.26/t fell by 7% in the month and 13.4% in the year, being the lowest since April 2018.
