Record harvest puts pressure on corn prices in Brazil

Corn prices continue to fall in the domestic market, according to Cepea surveys. According to the Research Center, the progress of the second crop harvest, which is expected to yield a record amount, and the decline in buyers are the factors putting pressure on prices.

Furthermore, weakened external demand reinforces the downward trend in domestic corn prices. In its 10th crop survey, Conab reported an increase in total corn production in Brazil.

The positive adjustment in July – both in relation to the June 2025 and July 2024 reports – is due to the higher production expected for the first and second harvests, as explained by Cepea researchers.

In aggregate, Conab estimates 131.97 million tons of corn in the 2024/25 season, consolidating the growth of 14.3% compared to the previous year (2023/24) and the largest harvest in history.
