The Central-West region continues to experience hot and dry weather, but areas of Mato Grosso do Sul and Goiás may see isolated showers.

The Central-West region continues to experience predominantly dry weather and high temperatures this Thursday. According to meteorologist Giovana Barbosa, most of Goiás, Mato Grosso, and the Federal District remain without rain forecast, although some areas in southern Mato Grosso do Sul and the extreme south of Goiás may experience isolated showers between Friday and Saturday.

According to weather maps, the instability is expected to move mainly over municipalities near the borders with São Paulo and Paraná. Regions such as Dourados, Bataguassu, Nova Andradina, and Naviraí, in Mato Grosso do Sul, may receive low rainfall amounts in the coming days.

In the projected total for the next five days, the highest rainfall volumes are expected to be concentrated in eastern and southern Mato Grosso do Sul, as well as the extreme south of Goiás, in cities such as Jataí, Cachoeira Alta, and Chapadão do Céu. Despite this, the total amounts remain low and are not expected to represent a significant change in the drought scenario.

Temperatures remain high across much of the region. In areas of Mato Grosso and Goiás, thermometers may reach up to 36°C, especially between Cuiabá, Sinop, and regions near the border with Tocantins. Mato Grosso do Sul, however, should experience slightly milder temperatures due to increased cloud cover and the possibility of rain.

In the municipality of Rio Verde, in Goiás, the forecast indicates highs close to 30°C throughout the weekend, with lows between 17°C and 18°C. Despite the presence of clouds at times, no significant rainfall is expected in the coming days.
