Soybean and corn trading is proceeding cautiously in Mato Grosso do Sul.

The commercialization of the 2025/2026 soybean crop in Mato Grosso do Sul reached 32.5% of the estimated volume by February 2026, according to a survey presented in the Price x Commercialization report, prepared by Aprosoja/MS with data from the Granos consultancy.

In February alone, the volume of the new crop traded was 4.5%, contributing to the increase in the accumulated percentage in the state. The report also indicates that the weighted average price of the 2025/2026 crop, considering the volume already traded up to the end of February, was R$ 115.46 per sack.

According to the analysis presented in the document, the progress of marketing for the current harvest is showing more cautious behavior when compared to previous cycles, especially in the initial phases.

In the case of corn, data for the 2024/2025 crop indicate that the volume traded reached 86% of the estimated production up to February 2026, after negotiations of 4% registered in the month. The accumulated percentage remains four percentage points below that observed in the same period of the previous crop.

The report also indicates that the average available price of corn in the state was R$ 50.06 per sack in February 2026, while the average future price was R$ 49.87 per sack, values approximately 16% lower than those recorded in February 2025. Considering the volume actually traded, the weighted average price was R$ 51.87 per sack.

For the 2025/2026 corn crop, the survey indicates that 1.1% of the volume was traded in February, totaling 14% of the estimated production traded so far, a percentage 0.5 percentage points below that recorded in the same period of the previous cycle. The weighted average price of the volume already traded is R$ 50.97 per sack.

According to Mateus Fernandes, an economics analyst at Aprosoja/MS, "this behavior reflects the strategy adopted by producers in the face of high production and a market still marked by uncertainties."
