The Federation of Agriculture and Livestock System (Sistema Famato), through the National Rural Learning Service of Mato Grosso (Senar MT), launched on Thursday evening (25) the Carreta Chico Bento project, an itinerant space created to bring the population closer to the reality of the countryside through interactive experiences, videos and educational comics. The initiative will travel through municipalities and the main agricultural fairs in the state, bringing information about food production, innovation and sustainability.
The project stems from a partnership between the Famato System and Maurício de Sousa Produções (MSP), formalized in 2025, and features one of the best-known characters in children's and young adult literature: Chico Bento.
According to Vilmondes Tomain, president of the Famato System, the character is a symbol of life in the countryside, and was chosen to convey messages about sustainability, innovation, environmental preservation, food production, and family succession in an accessible and educational way.
Present in the childhood of millions of Brazilians for several decades, Chico Bento has built a trajectory marked by simplicity, respect for nature, and appreciation for life in the countryside. The choice of this character also seeks to broaden the reach of this message.
"Now, it also represents a modern, sustainable agriculture connected to technological transformations," Vilmondes highlighted.
The truck was designed to welcome visitors of all ages. During agricultural fairs in cities across Mato Grosso, the public will be able to watch five educational videos free of charge and receive copies of five exclusive comic books, produced especially for the campaign.
"The materials address essential themes for the present and future of Brazilian agribusiness, such as the relationship between city and countryside, production combined with environmental preservation, soil conservation, technologies applied to rural activity, and the importance of family succession to ensure the continuity of food production," he explained.
The comic books distributed free of charge deal with the themes of City and Countryside, Production and Preservation, Caring for the Land, Technology and innovations that facilitate and improve life in the countryside, and Family Succession: The story that never ends.
The truck's audiovisual space will showcase the videos "From the Land to the City," "The Nature of Production," "What Matters is Care," "Technology that Respects," and "Family Succession – Caring for the Future," providing an immersive experience for visitors.
During the presentation event, the president of the Famato System announced that a second truck is expected to arrive in Mato Grosso in early July, expanding the project's service capacity and allowing its actions to reach a greater number of municipalities and agricultural events.
The launch of the mobile unit took place during the Rural Family Fair, which brought together collaborators and presidents of rural unions. The characters Chico Bento and Rosinha graced the official opening of the Famato/Senar System project, bringing interaction and even more symbolism to the initiative.
The official schedule and itinerary for both units will be released in the coming weeks, along with information about the cities and fairs that will host the initiative.
"We want to bring society, especially our children, closer to the reality experienced by rural producers and highlight the sector's role in food production, the preservation of natural resources, and economic development," he announced.
