Cotton harvesting is progressing across Brazil and reached 16.5% by last Friday (24). According to Conab's crop monitoring data, work has increased from 12.8% last week, but is still behind that recorded in the same period of 2025 (21.7%) and the average of the last five years (25%).
The states most advanced in harvesting are Maranhão and Mato Grosso do Sul (50%), Piauí and Goiás (42%), Minas Gerais (31%), Bahia (16%) and Mato Grosso (13.4%). The remaining crops are divided between 77.1% already maturing and the remaining 6.4% in the boll formation stage.
Conab technicians highlight that weather conditions were favorable for the advancement of new areas at the ideal stage of maturation and harvesting pace in Mato Grosso, which remains attentive to phytosanitary control, with priority given to the cotton boll weevil.
The harvest is halfway through in Maranhão, where activities are on schedule, and in Mato Grosso do Sul, which is experiencing calendar delays due to rains in the Central region, but has excellent productive potential in the Chapadões region.
In Goiás, recent rains have damaged the cotton harvested in the southern region, increasing the level of impurities, but still maintaining a satisfactory weight.
