The National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet) issued warnings indicating dry weather in parts of the Southeast and Midwest and a risk of storms in the South Region this Saturday (25). While areas of São Paulo, Minas Gerais, Mato Grosso do Sul and Paraná should face low relative humidity levels during the afternoon, states in the South remain on alert for heavy rain, strong winds and the possibility of hail.

According to the agency, the low humidity alert, indicating potential danger, is valid from 10 am to 6 pm on Saturday. The relative humidity is expected to vary between 30% and 20%, levels considered harmful to health, especially for children and the elderly.

The affected areas include regions in the interior of São Paulo state — such as Campinas, Ribeirão Preto, Bauru, São José do Rio Preto, Araçatuba, Marília, and Presidente Prudente — as well as the Triângulo Mineiro region and the south and southwest of Minas Gerais. Areas in the east and southwest of Mato Grosso do Sul and several regions in the north and center of Paraná are also under observation.

In the Southern Region, Inmet maintains storm warnings throughout Saturday, with varying levels of severity. The potential danger warning forecasts rainfall between 20 and 30 millimeters per hour or up to 50 millimeters per day, accompanied by strong winds with speeds between 40 and 60 km/h, and the possibility of hail. There is also a low risk of incidents such as power outages, damage to crops, falling tree branches, and localized flooding.

Furthermore, parts of the South — especially areas of Santa Catarina, Rio Grande do Sul, and Paraná — are under a storm warning, indicating greater intensity of meteorological phenomena throughout the day.

Among the regions most susceptible to instability are Greater Florianópolis, the Itajaí Valley, western Santa Catarina, the Porto Alegre metropolitan area, and areas in southwestern and western Paraná, as well as northwestern and northeastern Rio Grande do Sul.
