The Agricultural Policy Committee of the Mato Grosso Soybean and Corn Producers Association (Aprosoja MT) conducted 38 meetings with the Mato Grosso electricity distribution concessionaire, Energisa, in 35 of the association's regional offices, with the aim of understanding the main bottlenecks faced by rural producers regarding the quality of electricity supply to their properties. In total, approximately 1,195 rural producers participated in the meetings, representing the four regions of the state.
During the meetings, recurring demands from the sector were presented, such as challenges related to communication with the utility company, including difficulties with in-person service, inefficiency of digital channels, and the need for greater agility in supporting producers. Another point raised was the expansion of the three-phase network and the reduction of supply interruptions, considered essential to ensure greater security, predictability, and productivity in the field, especially in activities that directly depend on energy, such as irrigation, storage, and processing.
The administrative director of Aprosoja MT, Diego Bertuol, emphasizes that the initiative aims to bring the organization closer to producers and seek effective solutions together with the concessionaire.
“Aprosoja MT, with its 35 local chapters and approximately 9,500 members, has always identified very similar demands when it comes to energy and the Energisa utility company. Therefore, the board decided to create these groups with the goal of promoting a more agile dialogue and allowing for a more precise mapping of the problems. From this initiative, it has been possible to ensure that these groups have faster access to solutions and, in most cases, especially when dealing with simple issues, to serve producers more quickly. Thus, the organization has been able to increasingly expand the mapping of the main bottlenecks faced in the field and, together with Energisa, structure actions that provide faster responses. This applies both to specific situations, such as power outages, and to more structural demands, such as improving the quality of supply in municipalities that still do not efficiently meet productive needs, especially in activities such as cotton storage and processing. This deficiency is even more evident in more remote regions, on the agricultural frontiers,” he emphasized.
Considering the main demands raised, such as fluctuations, interruptions in supply, and the need to modernize the network, the entity's expectation is to advance in building practical solutions that meet the needs of rural producers.
“Aprosoja MT, together with its delegates and associates, has identified that, in most cases, these are relatively simple problems that, with faster communication, would allow for the rapid restoration of energy supply to producers. Energisa has observed this when acting in situations such as network cleaning, transformer replacement, or fallen poles. In other words, these are simple actions that are already showing positive results. Regarding more complex bottlenecks, the entity has been advancing in mapping these demands, bringing them to the attention of Energisa's board. In this context, these are not isolated problems, but recurring difficulties affecting most municipalities and Aprosoja MT centers. Today, the state of Mato Grosso needs more effective responses from the energy system to continue growing, especially with regard to industrial development,” stated administrative director Diego Bertuol.
After gathering the demands, the Relationship Coordinator of Energisa MT, Jorge Sírio, emphasized that the meetings contribute to improving service and strengthening joint action with the productive sector.
“We have been expanding our relationship with rural producers in Mato Grosso through organized groups, in-person meetings, technical visits, and direct communication channels. This proximity allows us to better understand the demands of each region and make our service more agile and assertive. With the support of the producers, we are able to identify incidents more accurately and act more efficiently in the field. We are also strengthening partnerships with municipalities and Aprosoja MT to intensify maintenance actions, such as right-of-way clearing, which is fundamental to reducing supply interruptions. Starting in April, we will expand this joint work, reinforcing our commitment to energy quality and the development of the rural sector,” says Jorge Sírio, Relationship Coordinator at Energisa MT.
The meetings are part of a strategy by Aprosoja MT to strengthen the representation of producers and ensure that the demands of the base are organized and presented in a structured way to the concessionaire.
