Mato Grosso sets new record in soybean crushing.

The crushing of soy in Mato Grosso reached a new monthly record in July 2026, with 1.24 million tons processed, according to data released by the Mato Grosso Institute of Agricultural Economics (Imea) on Monday (17). The volume was 5,13% above that recorded in July 2025 and 17,61% higher than the average of the last five years.

The result represents an increase of 0.10% compared to June 2026. Despite the stability in the monthly comparison, the performance reinforces the high pace of processing in the state throughout the year, associated with greater utilization of industrial capacity. According to data released by Imea, the July result represents yet another monthly record for soybean crushing in Mato Grosso in 2026.

The increased crushing rate also expanded the availability of by-products for the foreign market. According to data released by Imea, Mato Grosso exported 819,800 tons of soybean by-products — meal and oil — in July 2026. This volume represents an increase of 16.931 TP4T compared to July of last year. In the accumulated total for 2026, shipments reached 5.41 million tons, an increase of 10.171 TP4T compared to the same period in 2025.

Despite the positive performance of processing and exports, the relationship between raw material and co-product prices pressured the profitability of industries. According to data released by Imea, the price of soybeans rose 9.49% in July 2026. In the same period, soybean meal registered an increase of 4.46%, while soybean oil advanced only 0.22%. The difference between these movements reduced the gross crushing margin of industries in the state.

According to data released by Imea, the gross crushing margin fell by 20.52% compared to June 2026. With this decline, the indicator ended July at an average of R$ 435.43 per ton. The scenario shows that the record processing occurred in an environment of higher utilization of industrial capacity, but with pressure on profitability due to the more significant increase in the price of soybeans relative to their derivatives.
