A company from Rio Grande do Sul brings producers closer to genetics, technology, technical assistance, and the market, strengthening the international presence of Brazilian pecans.
Pecan nuts arrive at Expointer 2026 at a time of expansion in the Brazilian production chain. With expectations of increased production and the opening of new international markets, the crop is gaining ground as an alternative for diversification and income generation in the countryside. It is in this scenario that Divinut, a reference in the processing and commercialization of pecan nuts in the Southern Hemisphere, participates in the fair, from August 29th to September 6th, in Esteio (RS), bringing producers closer to the opportunities involved in the activity, from the establishment of an orchard to the commercialization of production.
The expectation for 2026 is for Brazilian production to reach approximately 7,000 tons, driven by the entry of new orchards into production and favorable conditions for the crop. Rio Grande do Sul remains the country's main production hub, concentrating a large part of the activity.
For Divinut, this moment represents an opportunity to expand the professionalization of the supply chain and show producers that pecan farming can be structured as a long-term activity, with technical support, appropriate genetics, and access to markets.
“Pecan farming demands planning and a long-term vision. Our role is to stand alongside the producer in this process, offering genetics, knowledge, assistance, and, above all, a connection to the market. When the producer grows, the entire chain grows along with them.” — Edson Ortiz, CEO of Divinut
From genetics to the market
Divinut's involvement with producers begins even before the orchard is established. The company maintains one of the largest nurseries of packaged pecan seedlings in the world and works with high-yielding genetics. It also offers technical assistance and maintains a policy of purchasing the production, connecting orchard development to the processing and marketing of the nuts.
Currently, the Divinut network brings together more than 6,000 partner producers, distributed across approximately 700 municipalities in southern Brazil, mostly family farmers. The model allows pecan farming to be incorporated into different farm profiles, as an alternative for diversification and income generation.
This close relationship with the producer is accompanied by a structure geared towards the consumer market. Divinut operates at different stages of the chain, allowing the production developed in partner orchards to connect with a processing industry and with markets inside and outside Brazil.
Brazilian pecan fruit gains ground abroad.
The expansion of the supply chain is also directly related to the company's internationalization. Divinut already operates in markets in North America, Africa, Asia, and Europe and has been expanding its commercial strategy abroad.
In 2025, the company achieved FSSC 22000 and ISO 9001 certifications, strengthening its ability to meet increasingly demanding international markets and expanding the competitiveness of Brazilian pecans.
Among the new strategic frontiers is China. In May, Divinut participated in international agendas related to the Asian market and intensified negotiations in one of the markets considered important for the expansion of Brazilian pecan nut exports.
The progress in foreign trade is also recognized in Rio Grande do Sul. In 2026, Divinut won the RS Export Award for the third consecutive year, consolidating a trajectory of international activity and reinforcing the presence of Brazilian pecans in different markets.
For Edson Ortiz, the recognition also represents an achievement for the entire production chain.
“Receiving the RS Export Award for the third consecutive year is recognition of the work we have been building for years. Exporting is not just the result of Divinut's performance. It involves an entire chain, especially the producers who believe in pecan farming, invest in orchards, and deliver high-quality raw materials. Each new market conquered represents an opportunity for this entire chain. It is recognition of the joint effort and also shows that Brazilian pecans have quality and room to grow in the international market.” — Edson Ortin, CEO of Divinut
Expointer brings producers closer to opportunities.
Participation in Expointer occurs in a symbolic year for the company, which is celebrating 26 years in business. At the fair, Divinut intends to present to producers and visitors the different possibilities of the pecan nut supply chain and show how a long-term activity can be structured with technical support and market connections.
From genetic selection to orchard establishment, including technical assistance, production, purchasing, processing, and export, the company brings an integrated vision of the activity to Expointer and reinforces its role as a partner to the producer.
Divinut will be present at Expointer 2026 alongside the AGPTEA (Associação Gaúcha de Professores Técnicos de Ensino Agrícola) booth at the Assis Brasil State Exhibition Park in Esteio (RS). During the fair, the goal is to present solutions, share knowledge, and bring producers closer to the opportunities of a chain that is growing in Brazil and gaining space in the international market.
